We started in a room full of chargers, figuring out why managing them was so hard. That room became Plugchoice.
In 2020, Tijn and Berend started building EV chargers in the Netherlands. They quickly found that the real challenge wasn't the hardware. It was managing it.
Every charger brand had its own closed ecosystem. Installers juggled multiple platforms. End-users had no way to control their own charger. The industry needed something open, simple, and free.
Plugchoice started as internal tooling for Volt Time chargers, then opened up to work with any OCPP charger on the market. Today it's a platform used by installers and operators across Europe.
