Plugchoice

Live power allocation. Safe, wireless, smart.

Power Management is Plugchoice's cloud-based system for distributing available charging capacity across chargers, based on grid limits, building consumption, and local generation like solar.

Load Balancing & Peak Shaving

Distribute available capacity across chargers within a group. Limit group current to stay below desired thresholds. Static or dynamic, single-phase or three-phase.

Set a maximum current per group. Plugchoice divides it fairly across all active chargers.
When building consumption rises, charger current drops automatically to stay under the fuse limit.
Works with static limits (fixed amps) or dynamic limits (real-time meter readings).
Supports fallback values when meter data is temporarily unavailable.

Gridsurplus

Solar Balancing

Charge on excess solar energy. Solar Only charges exclusively from surplus. Smart Solar blends grid and solar for faster sessions.

Solar Only mode: chargers only start when there's enough surplus. Stops when surplus drops.
Smart Solar mode: uses available solar first, tops up from the grid to maintain minimum charge speed.
Works with any meter that reports solar production. No inverter integration needed.
Configurable minimum current thresholds per group.

Multi-charger, Multi-phase

Mix charger brands, AC and DC, single and multi-socket in one group. Three-phase aware balancing across L1, L2, and L3 independently.

Group any combination of charger brands, AC and DC, in a single power management group.
Three-phase balancing tracks L1, L2, and L3 independently for optimal distribution.
Single-socket and dual-socket chargers are handled as separate load points within the same group.
All communication happens via OCPP. No proprietary protocols between chargers.

Plugchoice Power Management configuration

Drag, drop, done. Crazy advanced, crazy simple.

Power Management configuration uses visual building blocks in the Web Portal. Drag chargers into groups, nest sub-groups within groups, set per-phase limits, attach meters. Multi-site, multi-group, multi-level topologies that would take pages of config files are built in minutes.

  • Drag-and-drop groups, meters, and chargers
  • Sub-groups within groups for complex electrical topologies
  • Per-phase current limits and fallback settings
  • Parallel groups sharing the same physical infrastructure

Every decision, logged. Full visibility.

Real-time graphs show meter readings, current offered, and current consumed. Every power management decision is logged with full context. When something changes, you know exactly why.
